Luder Yawls Preservation

luders yawl

This project is an attempt to preserve a presence of past large Navy Sail Training Craft sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. There are three Luder Yawls currently located on the Bay — two being used by the Navy Patuxent Sailing Club and a third, Intrepid, at the Naval Support Activity Annapolis. If an individual or corporate sponsor can be found, the project will restore and operate Intrepid as a historic Navy vessel. The estimated restoration cost is $25,000. Estimated operating costs are $10,000 - $15,000 per year. Any funds not needed for restoration of Intrepid would be used for other Sail Training Craft, as needed.

NROTC & NJROTC Sailing

NROTC regatta

These programs provide financial and technical support for sailing competitions that build experience, confidence and integrity for future navy personnel.
