Provides recreational opportunities for wounded services members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. See the project website for details.

Operation Enduring Wind

A project targeted to upgrade small sailboats and sailboards used for recreational sailing in MWR programs supporting our troops engaged in Operation Enduring Freedom. The project expanded to include military bases in the U.S. and around the world.

Community Sailing Programs

USNSA provides financial support to branches offering sailing camps for children, adult sailing education and outreach programs for inner city youths.

Awareness of Navy Sailing

The campaign uses many venues to inform the public about the value of Sail Training programs: to develop leadership, to promote team building and competitive spirit, to develop a seaman’s eye and to discover a life long connection to the sea.

All Services Single-handed Championship

Provides opportunities for military members to compete in a national regatta. The winner of this Navy Sailing sponsored regatta goes on to participate in the national championships.

These programs provide financial and technical support for sailing competitions that build experience, confidence and integrity for future navy personnel.

Sailing Instructor Courses

Sailing Instructor Courses are being held in Short Stay, South Carolina. Additional courses will be held on the West Coast (San Diego, CA) if there is sufficient Interest. Reserve your space for the class now! Scheduled courses in Short Stay, S.C. are as follows:

  • First Session: Pre-Course (May 21-22), Sailing Instructor Course (May23-27)

  • Second Session: Pre-Course (June 18-19), Sailing Instructor Course (June 20-24)
